Mr. Fred Chandler, age 73, of Bennington, Indiana, entered this life on August 3, 1939, in Owsley County, Kentucky, the loving son of the late, John & Jenny Bell (Riley) Chandler. He was raised in Owsley County, Kentucky, where he attended school. Fred was united in marriage on November 20, 1962, in Owsley County, Kentucky, to Laura Mae Gabbard & to this union arrived two daughters & one son to bless their home. Fred & Laura shared nearly 49 years of marriage together until her death on April 28, 2011. Fred was employed at the Arvin Meritor in Carrollton, Kentucky, retiring in 2002, after 19 years of service. He was formerly employed at Stedman Foundry in Aurora, Indiana, for 17 years. He farmed all of his life, raising tobacco, corn & cattle. Fred resided the past 45 years in Switzerland County, Indiana. Fred will be remembered for his love of a hard days work & spending time with his family, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Fred died at 10:48 pm, Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
