Herbert L. “Red” Childers, 78 of Moores Hill passed away Friday April 26, 2013 at University Hospital in Cincinnati. Red was born Wednesday November 28, 1934 in Hazard, Kentucky the son of Ernest and Ollie (Whitte) Childers. He married Naomi (Cutter) Childers Friday February 26, 1960 and she survives. Red served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, and was a retired employee of Schenley Distillary. He had been very active in Veterans organizations being a Veterans volunteer for many years. He was a member of the Hogan Hill Baptist Church and a former board member of the South Eastern Indiana Rural Telephone Coop; the VFW, and the Dillsboro American Legion. He enjoyed the outdoors, and his big blue tractor. He liked calling bingo, but most of all he loved his religion, his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. Red is survived by his wife of 53 years, Naomi, daughter Julie Childers/Mesch, Grandchildren Miranda McCormick, Zachary Mesch, Joselyn Fischman, and great grandchild Dayvin McCormick.
