Catherine E. Eiklor 96 of Milan passed away Tuesday February 26, 2013 at Dearborn County Hospital at Lawrenceburg. Catherine was born Sunday December 24, 1916 in Milan the daughter of John and Pearl (Blackamoor) Puente. She married Charles Eiklor May 29, 1934 and he preceded her in death November 5, 1962. Catherine had worked as a cook and waitress at the former Koeing Hotel, at the Milan Drug Store, and retired from the Jay C store at Milan. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church and loved reading, sewing, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include son Paul (Judy) Eiklor of Milan, daughter Mrs. Jesse (Marian) Mobley of Aurora, sister Adeline Lewis of Milan, 4 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and several Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Eddie Puente and sisters Luella Schwipps and Hazel Steinford.
Funeral Services will be Friday March 1, 2013; 11AM at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will follow in Craven Cemetery at Milan. Visitation will be Friday 9-11AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Milan Food Pantry.
