Chad Varga To Address Students, Public About Choices

Romweber FlatsBatesville area students will hear an inspiring story about life choices from a former basketball player.

Chad Varga will be speaking at Batesville High School Auditorium on Tuesday, March 12, at 6: 30 p.m.  Chad had every reason to fail, every reason to turn to alcohol and  drugs, every reason to give up, but instead chose to rise above his circumstances and succeed far beyond what anyone thought possible. He’ll share his story with the teens, as he did with Franklin County students recently also.

He will speak to the students Monday and Tuesday, at both Batesville middle and high schools and St. Louis and Oldenburg Academy, and then the public is invited to hear him at a community session Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the BHS auditorium.

The event is sponsored by Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Choices, and Franklin County LCC’s Stayin’ Alive. Drug Free Coalition for Batesville spearheaded the movement to bring the speaker to the area.
