A former superintendent at Milan Community Schools has been chosen to lead a school district in Ohio. The Northwest Local School District hired internal candidate Andrew Jackson as its new superintendent. He replaces Rick Glatfelter, who is retiring March 31.
Jackson has been with the 9,600-student district since 2008. He currently serves as assistant superintendent of business services and has also worked as curriculum director and director of business. Before that he worked for 14 years at Milan Community Schools in Indiana, including as superintendent.
Jackson starts April 1. Meanwhile two Milan educators have accepted positions at South Dearborn. Paul Ketchum will be the administrative assistant at the central office there when Jack Heller retires. He was in his second year as principal at Milan High School. Bryan Sturgeon was the technology director at Milan and will take over duties from the South Dearborn retiring director.
