Congrats to The Greensburg Pirates on winning The 3A Regionals at Washington.
The #2 Pirates defeated two teams in The 3A Top 5 to advance on to next week’s Semi-States.
The opening round games saw Greensburg defeat The #5 Evansville Bulldogs 82-65 and The #4 Brownstown Central Braves beat The Vincennes Lincoln Alices 49-35. The Pirates captured their 7th Regional Crown with a 65-54 victory against Brownstown Central to avenge last year’s Regional opening round loss to The Braves.
Greensburg will be at either Richmond or Seymour for The 3A Southern Semi-States against another Top 5 Team in 3A. The #1 Mount Vernon Marauders. Tip-off will be determined at a later time.
The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles magical run in The 1A Regionals came to end at The Championship Game in Martinsville.
JCD won the opening round game by upsetting The Clay City Eels 48-38 while The University Trailblazers won over The Baptist Academy Chargers 46-39. The Eagles lost in The Regional Finals To University 64-46 to end the year at 9-16. The Trailblazers win their first ever Regional Title.
The Switzerland County Pacers season ended during the opening round of The 2A Southridge losing to The Perry Central Commodores 60-46. The Linton Stockton Miners went on to win The Regional Title.
