Batesville High School Teams Earn National Team Scholar Award.
The '07-'08 Boys & Girls Swim Teams earned the National Team Scholar Awards which is given by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA).  A team must have at least 12 swimmers and meet certain GPA requirements to qualify for the award.  The Boys have qualified for this 4 years in a row and The Girls secured their 2nd award.

Congrats to The Batesville Bulldogs Golf Team for winning the Ripley County Tourney.

IBCA Girls' Coaches of the Year-District 3-Scott Smith-Jac-Cen-Del

Coach Smith is a 1983 graduate of Jac-Cen-Del. He has coached at Jac-Cen-Del for 12 years, including seven as girl's Varsity coach. His teams have won four Sectionals, two Ohio River Valley Conference titles, and two Ripley County Championships. His varsity record at JCD is 105-56 (.652). The Lady Eagles finished this season 20-3 and spent much of the year ranked #2 in Class 1A, despite losing four starters from last seasons 18-5 squad. He has coached eighth grade boy's basketball, girl's JV basketball, as well as serving as boy's Varsity golf coach. He and his wife, Vickie, have two children. Heather (Huff), a former player and Trent, a seventh grader at JCD.  Congrats to Coach Smith from The Sports Voice-Country 103.9 WRBI!

Jac-Cen-Del freshman, Becca Wagner, has been selected to participate in the 6^th annual Indiana High School Basketball Showcase presented by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and the IHSAA.  The event will be held at Ben Davis High School on July 12^th.  It is designed to showcase the best underclassman talent the State on Indiana has to offer.  The event is held during the NCAA contact period so that college coaches from all over the country will be in attendance.  Players were selected by vote from each of the IBCA's 3 districts as the best players in their district.  College coaches at the event will get a chance to see these selected players in a variety of fundamental drills and scrimmage situations. This is an honor and privilege for the players selected, so Congratulations to Becca, selected after her freshman year.

A huge kudos for Jacob Eckstein from The Oldenburg Academy Twisters and Kallen Hovland from The East Central Lady Trojans for their selection of the IBCA Academic All-State.
