This Weekend: Art Show, Johnny Cash, Cancer Fundraiser, Fish Frys

There are plenty of fish frys to check out tonight. Our own Fish Fry Guy Caz Burdette makes the rounds, and find out by listening this morning where he will visit.

The local YMCA Coaches vs Cancer event is at the Batesville MIddle School gym.  Lots of area coaches are participating in this fundraiser. It starts at 5:30 p.m.

Tonight is the preview night for regional art show in Batesville. It’s at the Romweber Marketplace and your $10 tonight goes for appetizers, live music and a chance to see the art first. Proceeds also help the RAA, sponsor of the preview night. There is no admission on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and on Sunday noon to 3 p.m. with a brunch being offered by Big Four Café. There is a wide range of art featured, from jewelry to crafts, painted furniture, and oil paintings, all made locally.

Saturday after checking out the art show, you might want to hear some classic country music. The RAA is bringing a Johnny Cash tribute show to the BHS auditorium at 8 p.m. Performer/musician  Philip Bauer has earned raves with his Cash show. Tickets are still available and can be reserved by calling 933 0355. In honor of the show, WRBI features an hour of Johnny Cash music today at noon.

Also Saturday, dDon’t forget there is a large curbside pickup of items for Batesville residents on Saturday morning. A good chance to clear out the garage and basement of unwanted things.
The Batetsville library is having a used book sale at the annex building on Boerringer street until 5 p.m.

And Saturday, Sunman Elementary is the site for a used toys and clothing sale and craft bazaar.

Set your clock ahead before you go to bed Saturday. Daylight Savings Time starts, but we lose an hour of sleep.

On Sunday, St. Louis Catholic School in Batesville will be holding their semi-annual Super Sunday Bingo.  Packets are $40 per person which includes all games and a chicken or roast beef dinner.  Doors open at 11 a.m.

Also Sunday, there will be a Matt Diehl Benefit Dinner from 3-7pm at Stone’s Family Restaurant. Cost is $10 for adults. $6 for children ages 4-10.
